Robert Francis Cameron mac Cameron was a man who rode tall on his horse and performed heroically in his battles. He was the laird of the land and castle that he roamed and took great pride in the ability he possessed to keep control of not only his family but all those who needed his protection. What Cameron never expected was that it would be his extended family that was the enemy and drove him to make decisions that he would alter his future and create such chaos in his time of 1375 and that of Sunshine Phillips in 2005.

Sunny was living in modern day Scotland by her sister recovering from the deceit of a love gone bad. She has stayed with and learned to tap into the magic inside her and felt that her title of witch was well deserved and something she was coming to terms with. What Sunny never expected was to have her cottage door become a portal to the past where she would be hurled back in time to use these skills she was still not sure how to manifest.

Cameron needed the village healer and what he found on a stormy and cold night was something he never expected – a beautiful, vibrant woman who didn’t seem to quite fit into the times in which he lived. Both Sunny and Cam discover that in fact she does not belong there but they are not sure how to return her to present day. After much turmoil in the castle and trouble in the family both Cam and Sunny return through the portal to 2005 only to discover they are separated by 8 years and when they are reunited Sunny is fully aware of Cam but he has no recollection of her. How do you make the man you love with all your heart remembers you, maybe you let his heart find you and then his mind will remember.

This book is well written, the characters are likeable and the additional characters serve to show more complexity to the storyline itself. While this book serves the series, as a good addition the basic development of the story takes longer than it needs to and on a number of occasions the situation is repeated. The desire romance readers have for the two main characters to be involved early on in a book is an issue here, as that does not occur until the end of the book. WITH EVERY BREATH by Lynn Kurland is a good read and one her fans and readers will enjoy.
