He had defended her honor and allowed himself to be shunned by his family, ignored by his friends and sent into exile for six years over the scandal. What did he want in return for this, six nights of his choosing with her to make up for the six years he was living in exile. He would tell her when and she would make herself available to him, and when he came to her, she would say yes. During this time Georgianna would belong to him alone and she could not take any other lovers until this affair was over. All this seemed reasonable to Ivo Daughtry, the Earl of Somercote but not so to Georgianna Exley his desired prey and the only woman he has ever loved or wanted with all his being.

Ivo knew that he could pursue her now that she was a widow and pursue her he did despite all the other men that surrounded and protected her. She has a reputation of being quite the social diva, and keeps company with a number of men. With Daughtry she could want more than one night but would six nights be enough for this couple. While trying to sort her feelings out for Daughtry, she is also trying to figure out who her enemy is and why they want her dead.

Kalen Hughes has created two likable characters in her debut novel LORD SIN and to start her Rakes of London series. But I felt the story moved slowly, with to much attention on character development, and too many secondary characters to really keep track of. While both Daughtry and Georgianna fight the demons of their past lives, they work towards a relationship not trusting each other. The strong sensual nature of both characters moves the relationship and story forward, keeping everything and everyone around them on their toes. The chemistry and kept feelings between the characters is felt from day one, and in true fashion of all romance novels, the characters fight and deny their feelings towards each other trying to solve their problems themselves before reaching their happily ever after. I enjoyed the character of Georgianna and found her to be a woman of strength and valor in this very puritanical time in history. I look forward to reading more from Kalen Hughes.
