Jenna Petersen introduces us to a new world of lady spies recruited by the mysterious Lady M of the Society and Charles Isley. They recruit widows to become spies to help them uncover plots against the Crown. Meredith Sinclair, Anastasia Whittig, and Emily Redgrave are the new recruits. They each have special talents and back each other up when something goes wrong.
Meredith Sinclair has been given a new assignment to uncover any evidence that Tristan Archer, the Marquess of Carmichael, is committing treason against the crown. She is a little bit dismayed as she has known Tristan since childhood and has had feelings for him and can’t quite believe he would do such a thing. She is set about doing her duty and investigating to find the proof she needs. She finds herself caught up in new feelings for Tristan the more time she spends with him and finding it harder to believe that he is possibly guilty although the evidence is staring her in the face. She even goes about trying to see if the evidence leads to anyone else instead of him because she doesn’t want the man she loves to be guilty.
Tristan Archer, the Marquis of Carmichael, is a man on a quest for revenge. Ever since his brothers death at the hands of traitors, he has vowed that the man responsible will pay. His association with Augustine Devlin is dangerous for everyone dear to him, but he continues because he can lead him to the man responsible for his brothers death. If he completes all the tasks, Augustine Devlin sets before him he will lead him to the leader of his inner circle. When he sees Meredith again, old feelings resurface and he starts to feel alive again. He knows that he loves Meredith but feels he can offer her nothing till he seeks his revenge. He is shocked when he is arrested, especially when he learns Meredith was behind the action.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading FROM LONDON WITH LOVE it was full of action, suspense and passion. Meredith and Tristan were clearly meant for one another a long time ago, but something kept them apart. I will say the villain in this novel intrigued me there was something just a little seductively wicked about him, but he was very bad. The interaction between the lady spies was interesting and I am eager to learn more about the mysterious Lady M and who she may be. This book was another keeper and I look forward to the next book in the series.
